Doula Support Scholarship

As doulas, our goal is to provide non-biased, evidence-based support and education during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Through the CFAD Doula Support Scholarship, we provide birth doula or postpartum doula support services to local pregnant people in need. We sincerely believe that doula access is a reproductive justice issue and that all birthing bodies deserve to be well-supported and informed during their childbearing year. Any local pregnant or postpartum person who resides in New Hanover County or one of the surrounding counties is invited to apply for this needs-based scholarship if they are seeking:

  • Birth doula support

  • Postpartum doula support

Preference for awards for professional doula support will be given to low-income families, single parents, and birthing or postpartum people facing hardships.

All information in the application is confidential. Cape Fear Area Doulas will not share your information with anyone outside of the organization.

We accept rolling applications on a first-come basis. However, at this time scholarship awards are on hold. You may still submit an application, which will then add you to our waiting list. We do not guarantee that any applicant is awarded a scholarship but will move through applications in the order received when we resume reviewing applications.

This project is supported by a grant from The Endowment.
