The Big Latch On – Wilmington

As part of World Breastfeeding Week, join the Port City Breastfeeding Project as they hope to break last year’s record of breastfeeding moms! Learn more about the Global Latch On: http://biglatchon.org. The latch time is 10:30 AM. The Global Big Latch On events take place at registered locations around the world, where women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other. Their friends, family, and community join this celebration to promote and support breastfeeding. Volunteers from within the community host each location. Hosting a Global Big Latch On event creates a lasting support network for the community. As a worldwide peer support and community development event, it aims to strengthen national and global support for breastfeeding and to improve the health of children and women around the world.

This FREE and family-friendly event is happening at Waterline Brewing Company. There will be food, drinks (including nonalcoholic mocktails), a silent auction, activities, $1 beer specials, and a meet & greet with the Cape Fear Area Doulas. All proceeds from this event will go to the Cape Fear Area Doulas Scholarship Fund, which provides doula services free of charge to local low-income families.

Postpartum Play Date

It often takes a lot of effort to even venture out of front door in those first few weeks and months postpartum, and that's why we have started the Postpartum Play Date. COME AS YOU ARE, and let's simply gather outside (if weather cooperates!) for a little while. Any and all postpartum parents are welcome to join us. We do have a back-up plan in the event of rain. Tell your other postpartum friends, and let's spread the word.
