The Big Latch On – Wilmington

As part of World Breastfeeding Week, join the Port City Breastfeeding Project as they hope to break last year’s record of breastfeeding moms! Learn more about the Global Latch On: http://biglatchon.org. The latch time is 10:30 AM. The Global Big Latch On events take place at registered locations around the world, where women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other. Their friends, family, and community join this celebration to promote and support breastfeeding. Volunteers from within the community host each location. Hosting a Global Big Latch On event creates a lasting support network for the community. As a worldwide peer support and community development event, it aims to strengthen national and global support for breastfeeding and to improve the health of children and women around the world.

Family Mini-Sessions Fundraiser with Jennifer Knotts Photography
Smith Creek Park Wilmington, NC, United StatesJoin the Cape Fear Area Doulas at beautiful Smith Creek Park for family mini-sessions with local photographer, Jennifer Knotts! Each mini-session is 15 minutes and includes 4 digital images.* This is a perfect opportunity to get your maternity, holiday card, back-to-school, or family photos done while supporting an awesome charity. The cost is $75 per session (a $140 value!), with the proceeds going to aid the Cape Fear Area Doulas in our mission to provide education and support to new and expectant parents in southeastern North Carolina. The Cape Fear Area Doulas further this mission through birth and pregnancy support groups that are open and free to the public, as well as our Scholarship for Families, which provides birth doula services free-of-charge to low-income families. Sessions are available Friday, September 14th and Saturday, September 15th, between 4:20 pm - 6:40 pm.
